Ingredients for Chilies in Milk

For Makes 1 1/2 cups sauce.
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 6 hot red or green chilies, halved lengthwise
  • 1 slice of onion
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 3-4 fresh mint leaves (optional)

Preparation of Chilies in Milk

1. Pour the milk into a saucepan, add the salt, bring to a boil and immediately remove from the heat. Allow to cool. Put the hot chilies, onion, garlic, and mint leaves in a glass jar and pour the milk over them. Let stand overnight.

2. To serve with meat, poultry, or fish dish.
