1. Rinse the rice thoroughly and drain. In a saucepan fry all other ingredients until they are lightly browned. Lift and set aside.
2. In the same saucepan put the rice and fry, stirring constantly, until it has absorbed all the drippings. Add the water and cook over moderate heat until it boils, cover and cook over low heat until the rice is tender and has completely absorbed the liquid.
