Ingredients for Cuban Picadillo
For Serves 4. - 1 onion, chopped
- 1 garlic clove, chopped
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 lb. ground pork
- 3/4 cup olives stuffed with red pepper
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano
- 1 beef bouillon cube
- 1/2 cup white wine
- - Salt and pepper
- 2 cups croutons or toasted breadcrumbs
Preparation of Cuban Picadillo
1. In a saucepan heat the oil and sauté onion and garlic. Add the ground pork and cook until well browned. Add the olives, raisins, walnuts, oregano, bouillon cube and wine; stir well.
2. Add the croutons and mix. This should make a fairly moist stuffing. If it seems too dry, add a little more wine or water. Taste and correct seasoning.
