Ingredients for Chicken Liver and Mushroom Sauce
Ingredients for Serves 6-8. - 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 onion finely sliced
- 1 slice prosciutto, in thin strips
- 2 fresh sage leaves, chopped
- 1 bay leaf
- 4 raw chicken livers, chopped
- 1/2 lb. mushrooms, sliced
- - Salt and pepper
- 1 tablespoon port wine
- 1 cup chicken broth
Preparation of Chicken Liver and Mushroom Sauce
1. In a heavy skillet melt the butter and sauté the onion, ham, sage and bay leaf. Add the livers and mushrooms. Cook until the ingredients are well mixed.
2. Add the salt, pepper, port wine and chicken broth. Simmer for 10 minutes and serve hot with hot rice.
