1 Heat oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the meat and cook 10 minutes or until browned. Add the onion and cook another 10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
2 Add the water and remaining ingredients except the pasta and simmer another 10 minutes.
3 Add the spirals, stir, and cook 10 to 15 minutes or until the pasta is done. Serve hot.

The flavors in this dish are las( without being very pronounced and can be accompanied quite nicely with a delicate, fruity young red wine with soft tannins. My first choice is a Pinot Noir followed by a year-old Merlot.
